Worship is so important to us because it helps us express ourselves to God in a powerfully relational way. In fact, the Westminster Shorter catechism goes as far as to say that our ultimate purpose as human beings is to glorify and to enjoy God forever. This just shows how important worship is!

Worship is not just singing songs. Worship is the overflow of the heart, the declaration of God’s truth and a Spirit-filled praise, honour, proclamation, dancing and singing that is the spilling over of our almost inexpressible joy.

The Worship, therefore, has a two-fold task (1) to lead people into the presence of God, and (2) to usher in His presence amongst us. In doing so we get caught up in God’s wonderful purposes and this makes worship a two-way development of our relationship with God and His relationship with us.
