We meet at church members house every other Tuesday – see What’s On diary for details.
On Sundays we gather as one body of believers but at other times we enjoy meeting either in each other’s homes or at our Priory Building. The vision underpinning our Network Groups stems from Acts 2:42-47 which says: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
This bible passage describes how the early believers met regularly and became a community. They built each other up and encouraged each other by the Word of God and they enjoyed each other’s company and had fun together. Also, they worshiped God with joy and passion, they broke bread together remembering what Jesus had done for them and they became a ‘house of prayer’ seeing wonderful displays of God’s power in the miraculous; helping those in need and displaying God’s heart for the poor. What a fantastic model to imitate!
